“When we get into the ‘why’ and find deeper motivation for exercise beyond wanting to look a certain way, that’s when I’m excited to get to work.”
Trevor has been working as a personal trainer since 2011 and has a wide variety of experience to draw from when working with his clients. He was active in sports at a young age, focusing on hockey and softball, which taught him the value of hard work, leadership, and teamwork, values that have carried into his adult life and his commitment to making exercise part of his everyday routine.
During his degree at the University of Alberta, Trevor worked with the Pandas rugby team as strength coach during their 2013 National Championship season, and performed fitness testing for the Edmonton Oilers for several years. As a personal trainer, he has worked with clients from all walks of life, including youth athletes, business professionals, seniors, and clients managing chronic illness.
I take an individualized approach by getting to know the person in front of me, finding out what their motivation is, and developing a plan that fits where they are at. I view exercise as an ongoing process, not a means to an end, and I make it a point to work with my clients, not for them.
When I first started with Trevor I was timid to do any jumping, weighted squats, and agility work due to an ACL surgery from years ago. He created programs that taught me the right mechanics of how to move safely. I trusted the process, and now our programs consist of heavy squats, jumping and lots of agility work.
I started working with Trevor just before I learned I was pregnant, and there was no hesitation to continue knowing he is pregnancy and postpartum exercise certified. He was quick to make changes if something didn’t feel right. Trevor’s workouts helped me stay active and relatively pain-free through my entire pregnancy.
