Customized Personal Training Plans for You and a Partner
Partner personal training where you and another person work directly with one of our trainers is an alternative to working one-on-one with a trainer. Partner personal training strikes a balance between the personalized focus of one-on-one sessions and the social and cost advantages of training with a buddy. This flexible option caters to diverse fitness levels and goals, and creates a supportive and motivating atmosphere.
Customization is still key when you’re training with a partner at Aim Fitness. Each person may have unique goals, so we customize our exercise programs for each partner and adjust your workouts to your individual rates of progression.
Even if one person is recovering from an injury, or at a very different level of base fitness than you are, your trainer will build plans to meet each of you where you are at. Grab a friend, your spouse, a colleague from work, your sibling, or your parent and start working on your fitness together!
Four Reasons Partner Personal Training May Be Right For You
- A Cost-Effective Alternative
Partner training can be a more cost-effective option than one-on-one training since the cost is shared. It provides a balance between personalized instruction and a more budget-friendly approach compared to individual private sessions. - Individualized Attention and Custom Workouts
Even though you are part of a partnership at our gym, you still receive individual attention from your trainer. Your personal fitness goals, needs, and limitations guide your customized programming. Our trainers modify exercises and intensity across diverse fitness levels. - Accountability and Social Support
Knowing that your partner expects you to be present at your training sessions can help with consistency and commitment to your fitness program. Having a friend or family member cheering you on contributes to a positive and enjoyable workout experience as well! - Not a One-size Fits All Approach
It can be difficult for instructors of larger group fitness classes to provide personalized attention and necessary modifications. If you’ve struggled to find your way in high volume classes, but still appreciate the camaraderie of working out alongside other people, semi-private training is likely a great customizable option for you.

When I started almost a decade ago I had no fitness experience and lived a fairly sedentary lifestyle, but I never felt judged or uncomfortable in any way. Neither my body nor skill level was an issue.

Frequently Asked Questions About Partner Personal Training
What is partner personal training?
Partner personal training is where two people workout together at the same time, with the same personal trainer. Both partners will have a customized training program built for them and receive individual attention and coaching to fit where they’re at and what their goals are. Partners could be spouses, family members, friends, coworkers or anyone who wants to work on their fitness goals together.
Will we be doing the same exercises, just at different weight or intensity levels?
Your customized training program will be built to fit where you’re at, which means weights, intensity level and potentially exercise selection will differ between partners. Our personal trainers will assess your goals, your movements and listen to your feedback to make decisions about how to program best for you. Generally, partner personal training programs will look similar between partners, but will have individual differences to make sure both partners are getting an appropriate workout.
Does my partner have to be at the same fitness level as me?
Absolutely not! Our personal trainers treat every person as their own individual and will make a training program that fits their lifestyle and ability level. Rarely do we see partners who are at the same ability level in all aspects of fitness, so our personal trainers have the experience to make sure both partners are receiving the appropriate exercise program and level of coaching. Even if one partner is dealing with an injury or has a limitation, our trainers will be able to make any modifications necessary!
What if one of our partners can’t make a session?
If one partner can’t make it to a partner personal training session there are typically two options. 1) the partner who can make it will have the option of coming to the session and using one of their existing partner sessions
2) Partners have the option of purchasing a package of private personal training sessions that can be shared between both partners and used in situations where only one partner can make the session.
